Why STEP-IN
Human beings from the very beginnings had this amazing trait… we wonder at the world and our own existence. We all naturally ask ourselves a lot of questions like what is the meaning of life? How did I come to be? How did the world come to be? Is there a purpose to my life? Why is there so much suffering in the world? Am I just an accident? Is there a God? Is there another life beyond this life? What happens after we die? Is there right and wrong? What is happiness? And many such questions.
Historically we turned to philosophy, religion and science looking for answers. Some get their answers there and satisfied.
The human experience is that our whole being longs to discover truth -truth concerning this world – truth concerning ourselves and truth concerning that which is beyond the created reality… let us call it God.
Maybe you have been shaken up by some personal experiences, a tragedy, a life situation, the loss of someone whom you loved, your encounter with unimaginable sufferings, a sickness that disoriented you. And you suddenly find yourself asking these existential questions.
Unfortunately, we live in a noisy world. There are too many distractions and too much information. Yet, truth evades us. We often are left alone to search for answers.
Christian faith offers a definite and secure comfort of that truth. Once we grasp the mystery, we may not fully understand it, but it helps us make sense of reality of the world, ourselves and God, we become happy and begin to enjoy peace.
But it is possible that influenced by the negativity that surrounds conversation about Christianity you’ve wondered whether Christianity has any real answers. That is only fair. Also, most people don’t actually know what Christianity is about. When it comes up, people think of Jesus, church, or the Pope—but the real message? Most have never truly explored it.
And honestly, the way faith gets portrayed online, in movies, and by the algorithm can make it feel strange, outdated, or even cringe. People who believe are often written off as extreme or out of touch.
So, it makes sense if taking faith seriously feels awkward at school, at work, or with friends. Being curious about something deeper can feel like a big step.
