About Us

STEP-IN began in 2025 at St. Anthony’s English-Speaking Parish in Kraainem.

It was conceived as a simple invitation for those who were curious about faith to take their first step. It encouraged people to dare to step into the world of faith, questions, and discovery.

It is a pastoral initiative of Fr. Joe Antony, OP  at St. Anthony’s English-Speaking Parish in Kraainem. Step-In is inspired by the moment recorded in Acts 14:27, when the apostles rejoiced as God had “opened a door of faith.” Step-In carries this possibility of opening the door of faith for others and inviting others to step-into freedom and and joy of believing.

Many conversations with people who expressed a desire to discover or rediscover faith in an open and supportive community solidified the conviction that this was the need of the hour.

Step-In a catechetical or faith formation program rooted in a community committed to welcoming others to their contageous joy of faith. This is a space where curiosity is respected and questions are taken seriously and even in moments of doubts or confusion accompaniment is assured.

From the beginning, the vision was clear: to create a welcoming space where people could freely explore life’s deeper questions and encounter the Christian faith without pressure in a very friendly and non-judgemental environment.

The Meaning Behind STEP-IN

STEP-IN isn’t just a name—it’s an invitation. An invitation to explore faith, ask real questions, and discover what truly matters.

As Laozi writes in the Tao Te Ching, “A journey of a thousand miles begins beneath one’s feet.”

But taking that first step isn’t always easy. It can feel uncertain. Even intimidating. And sometimes, it’s easier to stay where you are. Yet without that step, the journey never begins. We remain where we are also in our journey of faith.

STEP-IN is about choosing to move. To step beyond the hesitation and apprehesnions to embrace something more meaningful.

And the best part? You’re not doing it alone. The Church walks with you, offering community, support, and wisdom along the way.

May be this is your moment to STEP-IN.

The Meaning Behind
STEP-IN

Faith often begins with a question.

A question about life.
A question about truth.
A question about God.

Many people hesitate because they think faith requires complete certainty before they begin.

But often the journey of faith begins much more simply — with a desire to seek the truth.

With a question.
With a search.
With the courage to knock on a door you have never opened before.

Jesus expressed this beautifully when he said:

“Ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find;
knock, and the door will be opened to you.”
— Gospel of Matthew 7:7

Ask • Seek • Knock. These words form the heart of STEP-IN.

STEP-IN is a space where questions are welcomed, searching is encouraged, and every person is invited to discover the beauty of the Christian faith.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. Just come with your questions.
