Before You Register

Yes — and here’s why. Each session builds on the one before it. Skipping sessions is a bit like missing chapters in the middle of a book; you can follow along, but you lose the thread.

That said, life happens. An emergency here or there is completely understandable. Missing one or two sessions over the course of the journey won’t derail you. What matters is your commitment to showing up consistently.

By the end of June 2026, all registered participants will receive the full session calendar with exact dates. We encourage you to block these dates in your calendar right away—consistency is much easier when planned in advance.

In the meantime, here is the general schedule:

  • In Kraainem, STEP-IN sessions take place on Sunday evenings from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
  • In Antwerp, sessions take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

No. STEP-IN is designed to happen in person — and that’s intentional.

Faith grows in community. This isn’t just an intellectual exercise; it’s a journey walked together with real people. The conversations, the shared moments, the friendships that form along the way – none of that happens on a screen. Real relationships require real presence. Faith grows in a community.

That’s genuinely difficult – and we want to be honest with you about it.

Our capacity is limited, and every place we offer is a place we want to be fully used. Please only register if you’re confident you can participate consistently. Signing up and then being unable to attend regularly isn’t fair to yourself or to the group.

If the timing truly doesn’t work for you right now, we’d encourage you to explore other programmes or ministries that better fit your schedule. STEP-IN will run again — and the right moment matters.

This is a real challenge—and you’re not alone in facing it.

We understand how difficult it can be to fully engage when you have young children who need your constant care and attention.

We do not have paid childcare staff, so we ask participants to arrange a babysitter for the duration of each session. Depending on the age of the child and the availability of volunteers, we may be able to offer some support — but this cannot be guaranteed.
If childcare is a concern, please contact us before registering and we will see what we can do.

We want you there—and we want you to be fully present when you are.

Nothing. STEP-IN is completely free to attend.

We believe the truths of faith belong to everyone—and it is our genuine joy to share them. We give freely what we ourselves have received.

That said, running the programme does involve real costs. These are covered through the generosity of volunteers and the financial support of St. Anthony’s Parish in Kraainem. If you ever feel moved to contribute, that conversation is always welcome—but it is never expected.

During the course of the programme, we may also organise pilgrimages or other activities that involve additional costs. Participation in these will be entirely optional, and any related expenses would be covered personally by those who choose to take part.

Yes. STEP-IN is our name for the RCIA or OCIA, which stands for the Rite or Order of Christian Initiation of Adults programme. In Dutch, RCIA or OCIA is known as the Catechumenaat programme. STEP-IN is an RCIA/OCIA programme conducted exclusively in English as a path towards Baptism, or reception into the full communion of the Catholic Church.
